This project is all about bringing some joy and meaning to people who feel they don't belong or who feel they suffer with lack of self-belief and mental health issues.
Its story probably addresses the story of many of us. Too many of us are alone with ourselves as individuals, and the threads that connect us to the natural world, the ancient otherworld, and each other, are missing from our daily lives.
The Story - Star is a sensitive, artistic individual, a young woman torn between her aloneness and her passion to find meaning in life. She struggles with her mental and emotional health, but through a series of experiences with a beloved ancestor who she meets in a dream, and her developing relationship with the ancient otherworld, she finally discovers that the reflections that are present in the natural world help everyone to see the threads that weave us together in life, weaving us with our ancestors, the spirits, even the shadows, the otherworld, and ultimately herself.
The project will involve a mix of stage and film work, sometimes on location. Our first location is filming Keshali woodland folk in a wood in South Wales - all of which will be great fun to do. These are enigmatic spirit beings - elves and the like - who Romanies believed occupied the woodlands of Britain and Europe in earlier times.
If you would like to be a part in this project in any way - or know someone who would - please contact me. Attending an open workshop is one of the best ways to gain some training. You will then be able to engage in some theatre skills and self-development skills, all of which will contribute to the magic of the project.
The Arts and Theatre suffering cuts in Wales - We are developing this project on a shoestring! With so much funding in very short supply and arts and theatre suffering, we feel we can bring out the best in ourselves as actors, performers and artists, hitting back at the idea that we should allow the arts to die. We want to prove that we can make something work that is beneficial to all of us where our mental health, wellbeing, education and affordability are concerned.
The Shamanic Threads Project is a global project. So join us wherever you are on the globe and have some fun at the same time! We will welcome you.....

We tend to see shamanism and theatre as two very different areas. But they are indelibly and often unnoticeably linked to form an empowering mirror that reflects who and what we are within our relationship with life.
We only have to identify with favourite movies or dramas to know what this is about, how the action contained within them can help us relate to something that is going on in our lives and which we identify with. In this sense, the action forms a mirror for us to look into, so that we unconsciously interact with what is taking place.
The School provides a banner beneath which we can use as an enlightening education on authentic shamanism and the arts, and this inevitably carries with it events and performances for everyone to enjoy.
Parava means "transformation", "change", or "exchange", and symbolises the positive effect we get from experiencing a relevant piece of drama, music, dance, movement.
Actors and performers, often students who have had a little Parava training, and others who are attracted to work with us, will come together to provide a kaleidoscope of colourful and enriching experience that will polish our inner mirrors beautifully and touch our hearts and minds with a new sense of wellbeing and enthusiasm.
